BETWEEN MATERIAL AND MEANING
Founded in 2024 by Inna Strokous and Marius Schwald, Studio Bovti explores the dialogue between craftsmanship, material, and narrative.
Their work moves between art and design, between sculpture and function — where the object becomes both a tactile experience and a vessel for reflection.
At the core of the studio’s practice lies a fascination with contrast and transformation: how materials carry emotion, and how perception can shift through touch, weight, and light.
Every piece emerges from a process of direct engagement — shaping, layering, refining — where intuition and material intelligence define the form.
In the ongoing series Cartapesta, natural stone meets papier-mâché: what is usually fragile becomes structure, what is heavy seems to float. The works challenge ideas of balance and permanence, inviting a reconsideration of what endures and what transforms.
The Kinoko series, by contrast, draws from organic diversity — inspired by the world of mushrooms and their infinite variations. Each piece translates natural forms into sculptural objects that oscillate between the soft and the monumental, the surreal and the functional.
Together, these collections articulate Studio Bovti’s central pursuit: to craft objects that exist beyond utility — where material honesty, narrative presence, and emotional resonance converge into a language of their own.
Inna Strokous and Marius Schwald bring their extensive expertise in architecture and interior design to Studio Bovti.
Born in Ukraine, Inna Strokous shapes the studio’s expressive design language with her keen sense of materials and form. She gained valuable experience as an interior designer and creative director at renowned German design studios.
Her work is characterized by strong contrasts, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep sensitivity to materials – qualities she now applies to the world of functional art objects.
Marius Schwald studied interior architecture and developed an early passion for craftsmanship and fabrication techniques.
After years as a project manager in leading interior design studios, he decided to further explore his passion for experimental design and material fusion through Studio Bovti.
Together, they see their work as a continuation and evolution of their previous careers – moving beyond pure spatial design toward the creation of artistic, functional objects with profound narrative depth.
